Hopefully some of you all can help with this like you have with several other questions before :)

We have a a sony TT290 that has what appears to be the gobi WWAN module in it. On the unit is only talks about Verizon. as an option.

However from what I understand the gobi works with AT&T as well. Looking that the unit there appears to be a place behind the battery for a sim slot, but it is covered by a plastic spacer.

So two questions, is there an actual sim slot behind the spacer and if there is has anyone been able to use it with AT&T?

    Thanks

The North American TT models do not come with a sim card holder. You would need to either solder a holder on or buy a Novatel mini pci card that would allow you to insert the sim card without modding your wwan board.
Some owners have got the Vaio P Gobi wwan module to work with ATT and they soldered a sim card holder to the Vaio P wwan board.

Thanks, I popped out the little plastic piece but there is no holder behind it. I did come across the mod for the P. I'm not good enough with a soldering iron to try that myself.

Oh well, I guess we can just stick with the USB adapter for now.
