I got the first model of the TX - TX17GP in australia.
It came with XP and naturally all the drivers on sony's website are XP drivers.
However, the later models of TX came with Vista, and have Vista drivers.

I have installed win 7 on my TX, but some of the sony's essential programs doesnt work because the drivers I have are for XP. I have read somewhere that sony's installers check for your model of laptop before it lets you install the actual drivers, and there is a way to extract the drivers from sony's installers. What i want to try is to get the Vista drivers for later models of TX, extact them and use it on my TX on win 7. is this possible?

i must say win 7 feels heaps better on the TX compared to XP, but i havent been able to get the volume and FN buttons to work. i managed to use the XP drivers for the wireless card and the memory card readers though. if i can ge win 7 on the TX to work properly then it will be a new lease of life!
