I am seriously considering the purchase of one of the TX models, but I have some questions:

    - What is the difference between the specific model numbers (650, 670, 690)? I know that some have Cingular's EDGE, and some do not, but other than that, I can't seem to find what the differences are. If someone can break that down, or has a chart somewhere that details the differences, I would appreciate it.

    - Regarding units with EDGE, does it have an easily-accessible SIM card slot, or is it buried deep in the unit and not even accessible? Perhaps even a hard-coded radio? I ask because I have a Cingular account, and have a data plan assigned to my SIM. If I could easily swap it out, that would be enough to convice me to get an EDGE model, even if I wouldn't use it that often. I have a Verizon EVDO card, so the EDGE would be nice to have available as a backup.

    - Could an owner please tell me the make/specific model of the DVD burner? I assume it is a Sony, but the model # would be helpful. I want to see if there is a region/riplock free firmware out there for it.

    - Is the hard drive easily accessible, or do you have to rip the **** thing apart to get to it? I assume it is one of those 1.8" drives, which means the upgrade capacity is probably limited. IDE or SATA?

    - What bluetooth stack does Sony use for this unit? WIDCOMM? Toshiba?

Thank you in advance for the info, it would really make my purchase decision a lot easier.

    Regards,

    R

    1) The different model numbers have different RAM configs.
    2) I'm not certain, but I'm sure the SIM card slot is easy to get to, I can't imagine they'd lock you into one card, that would be silly.
    4) The drive is 1.8" and pretty well burried.
