Ok this is a first for me. My laptop is completely shut down but the fan is still running. I am not plugged into to AC and the only way to make it stop is to take the battery out. As soon as I put the battery back on, the fan starts up again (without turning on the laptop). When the laptop is on, the fan also continually runs. The laptop is not hot at all; it runs at around 40 degrees. The last thing I did before having this problem was to use my Guitar Rig software which I have done many times without problems (I do not think it is related to this). Is there anyway to reset the fan or hardware? Any thoughts or suggestions are greatly appreciated. I will be taking it in for service on Tuesday if I cannot solve the problem.
    Thanks,
    DBC
