Have used my txn daily for 2 years.. slow but love the size for portability. Booted up this morning and there's a purple-ish streak going down the right side of the screen. See 2 pics attached. (I've never attached pics so hopefully this will work).
Is this streak a sign the LCD is going bad or the graphics card going bad?
graphics = Intel 945 Express Chipset Family
Thanks in advance.

The best way to be sure is to plug in an external monitor. If it fine, then it is your lcd - which I believe in this case.

Thanks for the tip! I'll give that a try.

In the second photo there are some curved lines showing that seem to "point" toward the bad pixels. If you push slightly on some LCD displays, you see similar lines. These almost look as if there was some sort of physical trauma to the screen. Was it bumped in any fashion?

Hi Gary, no trauma that I know of. I used it before I went to bed. Booted up the next morning and there it was.
Also, yesterday I FINALLY hooked it up to an external montor and the streaks are only on the laptop lcd. SO... time to exercise my 3 year sony warranty!
thanks everyone for yor help.
