I have a new Sony Vaio VGN-TZ150N. I like it, but it generates a lot of heat in its sleep or hibernate modes.
I carry the computer in a backack or briefcase. I want to use a sleep/hibernate mode because the bootup is slow, but I'm worried about the heat in the enclosed space.
Is there a way - or what's the best way - to make it not heat up in its sleep or hibernate mode?
Thanks!
RW

What are the actual temps?

That's not right. The TZ does not get warm when it sleeps, except if it's still on. It can turn on if the keyboard is touched at all. So, for example, I tried protecting the palmrests, which get permanently marked by the upper screen bezel, by using that little foam liner that came with the TZ.
Mistake, because that foam liner presses the keyboard and turns the TZ on when stowed, so the TZ can't sleep with a keyboard cover. But besides this issue, the TZ is cool when sleeping.

Thanks very much, ubercool.
What settings are you using to put it to sleep, because my TZ is heating up under several settings. -

If the machine is TRULY in hibernation it cannot heat up... the power is OFF completely in hibernate mode.

Yes...completely off in hibernate mode...But even in sleep...it should not even be warm, let alone hot
