Hi there, I noticed there was a lack of detailed pictures on this particular model case for the Sony TZ, so I went digging and found detailed pictures as to how it attaches. Apparently you need to stick on some velcro pads and gel attachments to get it to stick to your laptop. Lets hope they don't leave residue.

And the last five. That should give you some (lower res) but at least detailed pictures on how this case attaches and looks. Personally I love it the most out of all the cases since it turns the TZ into an apparent small leatherbound book.

Yes, I thought abou this case before I purchased VGP-CKTZ2/B. I really don't like the idea of stick velcro to laptop case or have a wrap around leather skin around laptop all the time. Unless you apply an entire sheet of velcro between leather skin and case, the leather will detach from the case at some point when you open the lid and end up an awkward looking.
But again, its more of a personal preference. Its a great find~ -

Personally,
I don't like at all. It ruins all the design of the TZ and it looks fat! Seems like a hamburger. -

Is the case rigid at all?
-
Thanks for these nice pics of case. It is reaaly needed for this type of laptop.
-
anyone know how either of these two cases will fit the t150?
i guess the cktz2 would be more flexible.
thanks! -
thanks v12spd for these pictures. This is the only detailed information I've been able to find on the VGPCVT1 case.
Is there an opening in the case sleeve to allow it to be put in the docking station without taking it off?
If not, I suppose one would have to remove the leather sleeve everytime the computer went in the docking station - that would be a hassle! (And since the instructions apparently say that the leather case shouldn't be removed often ...) Does anyone have any experience with this?
Thanks so much. -
Got one of these case some time ago.. they are nice. Makes your TZ look like a leather bound book.. Suprises people when you open it and its a sub notebook
-
Does anyone know where to get this at the former clearance club price of like 54 dollars? I never jumped on that deal and now my TZ's starting to show wear...
-
Does this leather case supports the extended battery? Anyone tried it?
Bump on clearance! -
Bump on the price as well thats a great deal if anyone can find another site with it!
-
interesting idea. one concern i'd have is airflow underneath the notebook. any problems there?
-
Back on sale at clearance club for 54, click on get a better price to knock 5 bucks off. And use google check out instead of their checkout, otherwise the shipping jumps up like 20 bucks. I got it shipped to me via fedex for 52 bucks!

thanks for the google tip... the shipping is what was holding me back on the VGP-CKTZ2/B.
-
Got it also for 52 awesome deal! Thanks
-
Can you explain how to use the gogle checkout? I want to order a bluetooth mouse from there but the shipping cost is more than the price of the mouse! -
Click on the google checkout button when you go to checkout. Its easy
-
I canceled my order today. Some person called and tried to say the shipping is going to be 10 dollars more because of some miscalculation so I told him to cancel my order. That is just wrong.
-
I hope they don't try to add 10 dollars to my order. I will gladly cancel as well. That is wrong. You agreed to pay a certain amount, they shouldn't be able to just tack on whatever they feel like. They should honor the price or go ahead and cancel the order.

Got mine, it was missing the velcro that I need to stick on my computer. I'll take pics when I go buy some. Great condition though and came in a genuine Sony box.
-
From the pictures posted, I can see that we need to stick velcros to the bottom of the laptop to get it fixed to the leather case. How about the lid of the laptop? Didn't manage to catch any pictures on how the lid is attached to the cover of the leather case.
-
Ye mine also arrived without any Velcro stickers.....

I bought some velcro brand pieces, from Home Depot, cost all of 2.50. Work perfectly and are the exact size of the ones on the TZ. What concerns me now, is the fact that I have to send in my TZ for service, and have to remove the case. The gel pads that hold it to the screen dont seem to be very reusable. From what I can tell if i keep the case in a dust free environment and stick some saran wrap on them until my laptop gets back I may just be able to stick it back on. Otherwise according to another thread, this user says he can order them for you, which I may do since its only 525 yen (5 USD).

Also to answer a few questions in this thread,

That is a picture of the gel pads there are 5 of them on the upper half of the case (it sticks to the screen, and doesnt leave residue) They tend to not stick very well for the first day or so but a few weeks later, it holds fast and is very strong. There are 4, one on each corner, then one more gel pad opposite the camera area so that where you commonly open/pull the case its rigid and holds strong.
The case itself is fairly rigid and doesnt flex at all except opposite the hinge and beneath the keyboard a bit.
I get SO many complements on the case along with the laptop. People see you pull out a leatherbound ultraportable and are quite impressed with it. Much happier with this computer than my MBP. Now with the PS3 and DLNA on this it makes for a very capable streaming/entertainment portable. -
So... Sony is saying to send my case in with my laptop when it gets repaired... I'm hesitant... Any suggestions?

grrr 55$ us only for shipping to canada
