Any help appreciated. I have a Sony TZ which was run over by a car a few weeks back. The only issue at first was the screen was cracked - it turned on and I had been using it with the broken screen for a couple weeks with no issues.

Todya my replacement screen arrived and I replaced it and now it won't turn on at all. What could I have done to cause that? Any ideas? Will it be repairable if I take it to a shop for less than the cost of a replacement (TT I guess)?

    Any help is apprecaited.

To be honest, I don't think you can expect a laptop to still be running after being run over by a car. Even though it did work after the incident, it doesn't really mean it would last.

I reckon you might as well upgrade to a new model.

I assume you double checked all the connections...no frayed ribbon cables...

I certainly didn't expect it to be still running after being run over - it speaks to the build quality I would imagine.

In any case, it seems as though it was a temporary issue as it turned on the net morning - not sure if it was a temporary short or something.

The thing might be, is the improper connection of the HDD wire to the mainboard. When it's not connected laptop won't start at all. Check that first.
