Whenever I unplug or plug in the vaio with Portableone XP Pro, the sound UNMUTES. This also happens on restart, or coming out of hibernate. Something to do with the sound setting not being saved properly. Any ideas?

Well I know I can do those things but my former vaio (SRX99P) remembered my settings. In fact all the laptops I've owned remembered my settings. Give it a try. Mute before hibernate, come back and see if it unmutes. Thanks.

Exactly...I shouldnt have to write a script or do some make-shift method...it should just work that way. Sucks.
