    I have the TZ195 with wireless b/g/n.

When hooked up to my wireless connection, the connection hooks up to the G wireless. My modem transmits g/n.

Is there any way to force the N wireless connection. I don't want to turn off the g option on the router/modem as I have a laptop that needs that connection.

    I use a D Link 655 DIR N gigabyte router.

    Thanks

I believe it will have something to do with your wireless encryption standard that you are using. (correct me if I'm wrong) but you need to use WPA2 in order to get N speeds. If you use WEP you'll just have a boosted range of coverage but slower speeds.

Thanks for the suggestion , but the router is set for WAP2.
It is configured and noted in the network configuration in Vista and on the router.

    Any other suggestions?

So if you're going by what SmartWi says, it could be wrong. Go into networks and open the wireless connection and see what windows says. Mine says I am connected at N even though SmartWi says it's g.

But if it is connected at G then maybe its that other computer you mentioned. If you connect a computer with b to a g router then the router and all connected clients have to run at b for backwards compatibility. Maybe you cant connect at n if its working on g.

mgs9500, I have the tz170 and the dir 655, and I connect at n (130) at wp2. I don't have a solution for you, but just want to toss out that n speed is capable since we have the same router.

    Hi,
    Two questions for Svenster
1.) Isn't N suppposed to allow speeds up to 300 MPS
2.) How are you confirming the N connection. I find that if I check the Network settings it only shows connect speed.
    Thanks.

Very likely your only going to get the full 300MPS if you have a DLINK Wireless N adatper. If your mix and matching wireless adapter with wireless router you won't get the full speed. Same thing happened with DLINK's router that were running Super G. You had to have a DLINK Super G adapter and the Super G router.
