I can get the Onboard Keyboard Controls to work.....however, the brightness settings never *save* it's setting. Everytime I turn the laptop off/on the settings are back at full brightness and I always have to adjust it. Same issue when it goes into standby......

    Anyone have a clue.

    Vista or XP user?
Have you installed Sony Power Mgnt.
Think the software memorizes the setting.
you could also set it to a default each time the comp is started.
By defining brightness for a specific power-theme.
Im using XP now same setting everytime.
No problem when I used Vista.

The power management drivers would be included in the "Sony Notebook Utilities" package available on esupport.sony.com. This download will also install Wireless Switch Setting Utility which you can uninstall if you have SmartWi.
