Has anyone done the trade up program that sony offers? My cousin has 2 older model Dell Inspirons and wants to get rid of them. Any advice on this program?
Thanks!

Sony gives you very little money. With a bit of effort, you/he can sell the laptops for a lot more. If you live in a big city, Craigslist may be a good place to sell. If you just want to get rid of them easily, however, and don't want to bother selling them, go for it.

I think he's talking about Sony's Trade Up and Go Pro 2 program, where you can trade in an old Dell for $500 if you buy one of their BX series.

Oh my bad, I thought it was this thing where they'll give you a whopping $454 for a Centrino Sony notebook with a PM processor! $500 minimum on the trade-up program is not bad at all. So nevermind!

Thanks for the replies. I will see what my cousin wants to do now.

does Sony only have this tradeup program in the US? Does this program exist in Canada?

It doesn't look like they have a trade in program, but looking on www.sonystyle.ca I found this sweet $750 instant discount on all of the BX series for you Canadians.
