I just purchased brand new SONY VAIO VPCEB46FG. It's only 5 days old. The system is too good. I'm crazy about my laptop, I love it badly !

The system was plugged to the power, and was downloading a game all over the night. But unknowingly, my mother saw the laptop light blinking in Orange colour and she turned OFF the power switch. When I got up next morning, I saw the laptop turned OFF. What actually happened last night is unknown to me. When I turned ON the system, some messages were displayed saying that battery level is very low. (I don't exactly remember.)

Whether the battery drained away and system was turned off without automatically shut downing itself ?

Or is the laptop having an inbuilt mechanism for shutting down itself properly if the battery drains out , and shut down itself in that manner ?

I'm worried about my dear Laptop.

    Please reply.

that's normal. Just recharge it as usual. If you run Windows, it by default hibernates the system when battery level reaches 10% or less.

Don't worry about it. Plug the power adapter in and recharge the battery.

When left alone, the laptop will automatically go into standby (orange light). If you are downloading something that will take a long time, change the power settings so that it doesn't go into standby, or your download will be interrupted.

When the battery level becomes very low (say 10%), the system will automatically go into hibernation, saving all your settings and data. When you start it again, it will get back to the condition it was in.

To extend the life of your battery (they need to be changed every 3 years or so), check out the battery care feature in VAIO Care.
