    Hi,
I have a Sony VAIO AR69GU Laptop. The laptop was giving me problems so I took it to Sony Service Center where they told me that the motherboard will have to be changed at a cost of Rs. 33,500/- (approx $745) which I don't want to spend as I'd rather buy a new laptop with some more money.
Now my problem is I want to back-up my data which is there on the 250 GB x 2 HDDs. If I connect HDD A to another PC using USB Cable, in Disk Management it shows one partition (10.38 GB) as Unknown Partition & the other (455.38 GB) as Healthy Partition, now in reality I've just connected one 250 GB & not a 500 GB HDD but I guess it is some software thing due to which it's recognizing the HDD as 500 GB. If I try to access this 455 GB HDD it says that it's not formatted. If I connect HDD B Disk Management shows that the capacity is 232.88 GB which is 'Unallocated'.
I desperately need to backup my data from these disks. Kindly advise.
    Thanks in anticipation
    Parik
