    Hello,

about 2 years ago i had bought this laptop it's a sony VAIO E (VPCEB4L1E) and i could enjoy it for ONE month before the HDD died :( so i brought it to the store and they fixed it :)

But today my laptop has another issue (it might be the HDD :/)

i am dualbooting windows 8 and ubuntu 13.04

so today i turned on my laptop and i noticed whenever i press the power button the red battery light goes on!
i thought it was nothing and booted into ubuntu i noticed that almost all aplications and a lot of data was missing!

so i tried booting windows8, windows 8 booted with "configuring windows updates" but after awhile this error appeared "failed to configure updates, reverting changes" and the next time i booted windows 8 it was just a black screen :( any ideas?

What i also noticed is that my PC always boots the ubuntu bootloader then i can select windows 8 and i should go to the win8 bootloader but now it takes about 5-10 minutes to go to the win8 bootloader :(

Also when i try reinstalling ubuntu: the setup hangs after wi-fi setup :(
aswell as using gparted live DVD it hangs on "checking for partitions on /dev/sda"

is this an easy thing to fix or do i have to bring it to the store?

(BTW: ubuntu does still boot do but a lot of apps are missing!)

    thanks,
