This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved.     Sony VAIO ExpressCard Card Reader VGP-MCA20

    After searching through the Internet for drivers/reasons why my Sony's ExpressCard Card Reader won't read the SD 1Gb card or any SD cards, I found out that it's a hardware problem (design problem) of the VGP-MCA20 ExpressCard Card Reader.

    Save yourself the hassle, just go out and buy a new (non-Sony) ExpressCard Card Reader and your Sony VAIO notebook will read SD cards with no problems. It is my understanding that the VGP-MCA20 will not read SD cards above 512Mb.

    Come on Sony, you can do better than that!
