I am ready to pull the trigger, but the impending release of the XPS M1530 is holding me back. Finding a notebook like the FZ is a rare find, but the Dell could trump it. I think I may just wait it out a bit, see how things pan out in the coming weeks.
-
But you won't get the supersale goin on for FZ series now.
-
The Dell may or may not be here before January, which is something to consider.
-
How long is this sale going on for? I actually priced out an FZ model and it came out cheaper than the CR on the Sony Style. I'm actually planning on heading to the Sony Style store on November 23rd, which is the beginning of the holiday shopping chaos here in the United States...
-
Wait, what sale?
-
The starting price of FZ in www.sonystyle.com was cut down by more than $200. That's the sale we are talking about.
-
Get the Sony, definitely. If it's between the Sony and the Dell, you won't regret it
-
How long is this FZ sale? Because I'm amazed.
And what do you mean "Finding a notebook like the FZ is a rare find"? -
It will probably continue until a refresh.
Also, I think you should go with the FZ hands down. Comparing a Dell to a Sony is like comparing a Citizen watch to a Audemars Piguet (If you know watches you surely know which one is on top) -
Well, I personally dislike the FZ after trying it out at Best Buy, the keyboard is all wrong for me, but its current price to hardware ratio makes it nearly irresistible.
If I were you, I would snatch it up now while you still can. -
Simply put, it's cheap.
-
Looking at the specs I have to vote FZ... once Dell has LED higher res screen maybe I will reconsider...

Well now that we can see the XPS 1530 it may in fact be good competition for the FZ. One thing to note that it has stronger graphics in the form of the 8600GT but if graphics aren't to high on the priority list, than its just a matter of price.
-
Yeah, I would get the FZ unless one of the specific features or options on the M1530 that's not on the FZ is important to you. Mainly because the FZ has been out for a while, so you won't have to wait a long time for it or worry as much about manufacturing glitches. Also Sony's screens are excellent quality. The main feature offered on the M1530 right now that's not available on the FZ is the more powerful graphics card offered on the M1530... and there should also be higher-res screen options on the M1530 next year.

well in terms of features, the dell def beats it, no doubt about it. def better graphics, ability to get ssd, thinner, lighter - slot loading disk
but if u want to pay a little less and not have to wait, then get the fz
