Sony VAIO Gate is a software docking/launching software that shipped with my new SONY VPCEB390X this past October. I like the look and functionality of the software, but I have had two important problems that I can't solve.

ONE: I updated the software from the esupport.sony.com website and it crashed in process and stopped working. I'd like instructions on how to reinstall. Simply downloading and running the software from the sony website doesn't seem to work. ANY ADVICE on how to remove remenants of software and do a clean install?

TWO: Prior to crashing, I was having difficulty adding programs and adding feeds to the GATE interface. ANY basic advice on how to resolve this? I found the following tips online, but I don't know a lot about xml editting.

write this code in a notepad file
    ~Item Type="2" Displayid='app.*first 4 letters of app*'~
~DisplayString~*display name you will see in the gate app*~/DisplayString~
    ~DisplayTip~~/DisplayTip~
~AppPath~*path to the .exe, e.g C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Flash CS4\flash.exe no need for any quote marks*~/AppPath~
    ~SupportTouch~0~/SupportTouch~
    ~SupportRemocon~0~/SupportRemocon~
    ~WorkDirectry~~/WorkDirectry~
    ~Option~~/Option~
    ~/Item~
Now save this file in location i'm giving as "VAIO Gate.xml"

NOTE: for ease of display, I changed the < & > to ~ Thanks in advance for your help!
