    Sony VAIO S RAM question

    On the Sony Canada online store (not on the US one, I checked), when custumizing a 15" VAIO S, when choosing your RAM, the base option of 8 gb says that its clocked at 1600mhz. But when you review your purchase later, it rectifies to 1333MHz, which is probably what will actually be shipped inside my computer.

    Any thoughts on this? I'm guessing it's simply a mistake... Once I receive my computer I'll try giving them a call complaining that what I got was not what was advertised on their website ;)

    Your internal 4GB (fixed soldered) memory is running on 1333MHz. So any other added memory will run on the same speed. You can add 1600MHz memory perfectly, but it will run on the speed of the lowest rated.
    It's possible that a batch of 1600MHz RAMs was cheaper then 1333MHz, which could explain above. Anyway... the price difference is minimal and as mentioned: it will run 1333MHz anyway.
