Its a great laptop and i really love it.
Its achilles heal is the speakers. You can fix that with difrent drivers tho.
Also the screen dont show reds perfectly. They get a bit orangy like it does on most ips panels.
Otherwise the computer is absolutely great.

Remember people almost never create threads on forums to say that they love something. Its mostly just to complain.

yea there is no real review of the S15 a few of the S13 but non of the S15... the owners thread is great but its a massive conglomeration of information that most people don't have 5 days to read through. I'l see if i can do a write up sometime.

tbh though the S13 is almost the exact same thing as the S15 just in a 13.3" frame. only major difference is the screen and you can read an official review of that on notebookcheck.net if you look at the Sony SE review (S15 and SE use the same screens).

I purchased a S15 with 8GB RAM and the 750GB hard drive. I had a laptop emergency on 9/4/12 and had to purchase something that was in stock. I was replacing an ASUS GW53J and needed an I-7 processor, 2GB for video, and 1920x1080 resolution. I run a combination of MS Office, Visio, Project and do a lot of work with VMWare and Eclipse so I needed something with some horse power for work.

I have found the laptop to be better than my previous (I-7 1st Gen, 1.5GB video). I upgraded to Windows 7 64-bit Ultimate because we have to use BitLocker at work. The performance is good - waking up from sleep is fast. I do not have the issues that some report with the colors on the screen. My previous laptop has a 120GB SSD for boot with a 750GB 7200 RPM drive for data. I am going to replace the drive with a 750GB Hybrid.

I've only been running for a week and 1/2 but I'm already recommending this laptop to co-workers. The battery life is much better than the previous ASUS. I have not done anything yet to optimize the battery life.

    Hope this helps.

Have the laptop for a week and loving it after tweaks here and there. I went through couple of laptops without a month and finally end up with the S15.

    What I hate

Paint is weak. It gets scratch so easily.
Screen cannot show red properly but bearable.
    Speakers are weak.
Sometimes turn on from sleep, track pad multi touch won't work. So have to disable trackpad and re-enable it to make it work.
Keyboard is a bit flex and shallow but good enough.
    Terrible camera
    Locked to Sata 2 speed.

    What I like

    Sexy(I have silver btw)
Freaking light for a 15 inch laptop
    Gorgeous screen 1080p
    Overclock-able GPU
    Pretty good battery life.
Swapped mine to SSD and even though it's locked at sata 2 speed, power up in 10 secs, shut down in 4 secs, wake up instantly.
Trackpack. After tweak with the setting, it is just awesome. It is one of the best pc trackpad and very close to mac.
Option to turn on and off GPU.

Hope this helps you in some ways. I am sure you can find better laptop for the money but I bet you won't find a more balanced laptop than S15.
