Out of curiosity, given the abysmal reviews of the SB's screen, could one technically replace it with the Samsung 9 series screen part, since they are essentially both the same size (13.3 inch)?

Was thinking of getting the SB CTO model and buying a spare screen for the Samsung 9 series and replacing the one on the SB.

    Here is the link...
Samsung 9 Series NP-900X3A 13.3" WXGA HD (LED backlight) LCD Screens, (New) most screens $345 to $455

The price seems to fluctuate...so it may be a good option depending on what the final amount will be.

    What do you think?

Using screens from one laptop to another has always been a grey area when it comes to laptop modifications. Besides the actual physical dimension of the screen, other factors such as connect type (30 or 40 pin?), location of the connector, and mount type (Vertical or Cage mounts?) need to be taken into consideration. Even if those matches up, you are still not guaranteed to get a working picture.

I was the person that found a suitable upgradeable for the Dell XPS 14, and that was after trying three different panels. My recent attempt was finding a 900p panel for the Toshiba M645, but the sole candidate for that laptop failed just because the harness the screen manufacturers use for rendering the color green was different.

As for the Samsung screen, no one knows for sure if the screen would even work until someone gets a picture of the panel or the specifications for it.
