Was wondering if anyone is having trouble with the sound of this machine? Everytime say I close a Word/Excel document or any other application for that matter that prompts you to save/confirm exit, the exclamation sound always comes with a 2 sec delay time. Often it is 2 sec after I have clicked "No" (for word asking me if I want to save changes) before it rings.

Any one has the same problem? Anyone knows if there is a more recent driver I can use? I have done a clean install of Vista but it did not help. I have also downloaded the driver on the asia-pacific support website for my realtek device. Mine is shown below:

    I never experienced that problem..

You did a clean install? you probably screwed up on order of drivers to install.. just go to Z Clean install mega thread and follow directions from step 1 again

No clean install was correct. I experienced that with both factory default when i first got it. And also after the clean install.

im not sure what causes the noise, but it only occurs, if you hadnt noticed, predominatly when using youtube/flash/web streaming applications.

The noise isnt there when watching a tv show from itunes or playing a dvd or listening to subrcription music, etc. I suggest upgrading your Realtek HD driver to the latest version, someone posted a link on the sony thread, but you can also simply go to the RealTek website and download the new HD audio drivers...

Also, i think upgrading your flash drivers interferes with the OEM realtek drivers, dunno why...

Hmm, sound from video/audio playback is normal. Its just the wave sounds that windows plays affected.
