Hi, to the SR 290 users, when you created your recovery discs was it only 1 dvd disc or multiple? And when you create recovery discs, does it create the discs like it was a new factory pre-installed vista or does it include ALL the programs you have installed afterwards? Because I created a recovery disc that was only 1 dvd which felt awkward. In 3 days, I want to install OpenSuse 11.1 but I want to backup windows just in case it might damage the partition. So, the biggest question is when you create these "recovery discs," it does include all the programs that you have installed prior to your creation of the recovery disc, am I correct? (EG. basically RECOVERS your vista to the state of when you created your disc and not recover the system to brand new "factory installed" vista, including all the VAIO software and excluding any software you have installed afterwards).

1.) 3 DVDs
2.) factory pre-installed vista, it won't include the programs you installed
lol. -
2 DVD-Rs were needed for my recovery disks, though if you use some different kind of DVD (I don't recall the format), you could do it with just 1 disc.

the new SR290 need 3 discs (or 2 dual layer discs)
the SR190 only need 2 (or 1 dual layer discs) -
Tony,
My SR290 only needed 2 discs. I wonder why the difference? -
really?? weird..
3 people from the SR owners thread said their SR290s needed 3 discs -
Yes, it was definitely 2 discs for me. Perhaps because I chose the "fresh start" option, there's less to copy.
-
Yeah that's probably why.
-
i had fresh start, and my 290 took 3 disc, vista business
-
So the backup discs just restore your system to the same way you got it? No option to leave off programs you don't want?
-
Wait, how come I only have one? I have sr290, and I did the recovery thing but it was only one disc?
