hallo. i'm from Germany and hpoe that i can find some one her to help me.

I found an old thraed from 3 years ago: there i found this from an mabe ex-member named "Purefusion" :

    he wrote:

"I was actually able to just use the VAIO restore utility from partition C to install XP Pro on partition D. Then I selected the option to just restore apps. It worked perfectly."

I actually don't understand everything he wrote.
What i like to do is: To use the Recovery-Partitition (like he discribed) for an Upgrade to XP. Prof. Doesn't matter, which way i have to do.
The only thing, whats important to me, is: to use at least a few programms from the Recovery-Partition. But when i reed some advanted manures to upgrade, than i reed most a time of using resp. Installing on Drive D.
hm..... as fare as i understand, it will fix. But when i start the PC, than i have to boot from D - isn't it ? I meen, when i like to run with Prof - than i can start my home or my prof OS. right? - but- how can i use - resp. -
transfer the recovery-parts, so that i can use them? Maybe i'm a dummy- I don't no. I wil be very very pleased, if some one could help me out of this desaster... :-( Thank you very much.

A drive letter can always be reassigned, so even if things initially start on D:\, that drive can be reassigned as the C:\ drive (if need be - the system should boot from a drive labelled d:\ just as easily if everything's been installed properly.
