I have purchased a very high end machine from Sony Style USA | Sony VAIO® Computers | Sony Consumer Electronics for a price of $2589.46 and the problems started occurring from first year onwards, just to be at a safer place and save myself I have also extended my notebook service plan for 1 more year costing around $200 bugs. My experience was very bad even after purchasing a notebook on very expensive price I landed up paying a very huge price at the end and my VAIO motherboard crashes in just 3 yrs.At first the I reported the following problems started occuring in my VAIO notebook hard drive processing sound, extensive heat at the base, very low battery backup I also took extra capacity battery costing another $300 bugs. Problems doesn\'t stops but it continues further, Second year they called my Laptop for repair and found so many issues inside. My extended warranty safe me here and Sony have replaced so many parts inside the notebook. This time I make an assumption that at least now my notebook will not create any further issues but again I am wrong. Now I notice another issue pops up, my Sony laptop base was started generating extreme heat at the bottom then I try to troubleshoot by myself and finally I see lot of blogs and reviews shows up on the internet which states it is a very known problem with most of the VAIO series as it uses internally NVDIA chip for all the graphics related stuff and because of the extra sensitiveness of the chip it is basically impacts and damages the motherboards from inside. Pertaining to the same problem Sony have recalled many notebook models just because of the NVDIA chip issue being used at the motherboard level. They have also replaced the motherboards of many customers who complains them about this issue. In third year I notice another problem in my VAIO notebook I seeall green lines started appearing on the display and the laptop base becomes very hot and notebook hangs completely.I have reported the problem to Sony and this time they want me to send the laptop again for review. Finally they said that the motherboard and the video card is already crashed and send me an estimation cost of around $700 to fix the same. As my notebook is not under the manufacturer warranty they refuse to cover it. I would not be covered even though it is there design flaw. I was very upset that even after spending $3000 plus dollars on a very high end VAIO notebook I ended up finally with a crash motherboard and video card in just 3.5 years. This is the Laptop quality what Sony is providing to his end customers. My personal suggestion to myself and all that dont never ever trust any VAIOs in the future and I would request all others to be extremely cautious before taking any decision to purchase it. I have no option left on my notebook except putting them into trash and get a new one. One thing is clear that VAIO's notebook have a very short life.
