I am very new to this forum; i have read a few guides and think this is the appropriate place to post this quiery.

I have recently re-installed vista on my laptop; without making any recovery disks. I did however use an audit program to draw up spec's of the computer and software which was installed on the PC prior to rebooting.

The area in which I require help in is to fix a few faults with my Rebooted computer.

    1) The hotkeys do not work (a little research informed me I needed to download VAIO software drivers and utilities) However i have tried and the only hotkey i can manage to make work are the Volume Controls.

    2) The S1 Buttons correct functionallity.

    3) AV MODE button or VAIO Launcher? - I require software help..

    4) Brightness (as in 1))

Also it would be much appreciated if someone could tell me where i can aquire the VAIO Data Recovery software tools and other Software.

Update: I fixed the HotKey Problem:
    1) Soon as reboot completes; Load SFEP in Device Manager
    2) Install VAIO Shared Library -> Prior make sure Graphics Driver + Audio Driver are correctly installed.
    3) Install VAIO Original Function Settings 2.0 Update
    4) Install VAIO Launcher
    5) Install Settings Utility Series
    6) Install VAIO Event Service
    7) Install VAIO Control Centre

HOTKEYS ALL WORK INCLUDING BRIGHTNESS AV MODE; S1's busted- Some thread somewhere said Sony is useless and they dont do anything to help anyone so - im not particularly fussed about this button.

Im so happy i fixed this (Brightness is a real bugger + strain to the eyes at night when watching films..)

I will keep the thread up for those above tips; i put together many different versions.. This one worked as a combination. =]

Hi, thanks for trying to help.

I've got the exact same issue, i'm trying to put this NR10E to win7 64 bits, and drivers sucks. I tried to follow your instructions, but nothing hapens, i only can control the volume, but with no OSD display. I had an OSD at a moment, but i couldn't tell you how...

I downloaded most of the things here
    Sony eSupport - VGN-NR110E/S - Software Updates & Drivers
And some others i can't even find them back on the laptop's sony's page, that was 2 package : 1 for drivers, 1 for stuff.

If i install the audio drivers i found, it doesn't work, so i install it manually via device manager.
I took the last card reader driver from texas instrument
I've got a "newer" version of Sony Shared Library when i try to install another one, wich i cant find in "uninstall programs" or ccleaner

But then, after that i did what you told, and doesn't works.

So here i am, how to make it work ? :(
    Please help.
