Hi! I currently own a Sony VAIO VGN-NR298E/S, and am looking to upgrade its processor speed (uh, without overclocking). Is this possible? Can I replace parts (CPU, motherboard, ram, etc) to speed up this laptop?

I'm looking to bump it up to about 2.5-2.8 GHz -- that's my target range.

Here are the current specs for my laptop:

    Harddrive: 250GB, 5400 RPM
Chipset: Mobile Intel® GM965 Express Chipset
Interface: VGA Out with Smart Display Sensor
Processor: Mobile Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator X3100
Video RAM: 358MB12 Total Available Graphics Memory
    Front Side Bus Speed: 667MHz
    L2 Cache: 2MB
    Speed: 1.83GHz
    Type: Intel® Core™ 2 Duo Processor T5550
    Memory: 2GB (1GBx2) PC2-5300
    Maximum: 4GB13
    Speed: 667MHz
    Type: DDR2

Anything I can do aside from just buying a new, faster laptop? Thanks for your help! I'm not extremely techy, so I guess what I'm really looking for is hardware/software recommendations rather than what each individual piece does. Thanks :)

    Best,
    Jonathon
