    Hi,

After using my laptop for a few years, my right-click doesn't work anymore so I went to use a mouse. However, after I reset the laptop to factory setting, the right-click work 100%. After using the Window Update, the right-click does not work anymore. I try changing in the touchpad setting, but nothing work. Can someone help me with this issue? Thanks in advance.

First, install the Alps driver, there is one in the guide in my signature.
Then go to Intel.com with Internet Explorer and do an automatic driver update.

Hopefully that will fix it. Windows driver update is often lagging behind and when they finally do push through an update, if it's bad, it can take them weeks to fix it, it sounds like you got a bad one. While the automatic driver system is great when setting up a system and for many drivers, don't rely on it.

Windows Update doesn't install any Alps pointing device drivers for the Vaios AFAIK.

Downloading the driver managed to fix the issue. Thank you for all the help.

It installs a generic touchpad driver.

    Glad it's working!

The generic touchpad driver in included in Windows. It doesn't come from Windows Update though.

It's part of the base driver set for Windows.

If there is an update and you enable it, you can get driver updates through windows updates, but yeah, I don't think they have put out any update for that since Win7 was released. Alps only deals with hardware vendors.
