Hi,
I just found out tonight that the cover for the internal CD/DVD rom of my VAIO fell off. I have no idea how it happened. The CD/DVD still works fine but you can see the microchips and insides of the thing. I read before that the CD/DVD ROM for VAIO sz was flimsy - but I didnt expect for it to just break/fall off like it did. Anyway, I was wondering if any of you had this same experience?
The laptop is still under warranty so I hope this can be fixed when I bring it to best buy.![]()

You can also order the part from the SOny DAPC. It's like $40. I had to do that. Much easier and quicker than waiting for any "fix".

Do you know where? This is the first time I had any problems with this laptop and I searched in the sony accesories and parts website and I didnt find it. Can you please direct me where you ordered yours and what exactly the part name/number its? I searched all over google and I dont seem to be getting any hits on this. Thanks for your help.

Hi, I looked at Sony DAPC but I am not sure which part is called and with the lack of pictures it's hard to tell what I needed. Also, is that part really detachable or do I need to replace the entire DVD/CD ROM? Thanks again.
