    Sony VGN FZ-280E Serious Help Needed!!!

    I dont know whats wrong with the computer
    when i turn the computer on
    logo's comes on like normal
    but in the background(ima try to describe it as best i can)
    have this weird mixed color verticle lines
    all over the background.
    after the logo's, computer goes dark and shuts off
    i tried system recovery but errors comes up while recovering
    after 20 tries finally successfully recovered my computer
    but the next day same thing happened when i turned on my computer.
    any ideas?

    Check the sticky thread about Sony and nVidia card problem. Hope you are still in the extended warranty period that Sony offers and can get a new replacement motherboard.

    As Skyshade said, you need to check the sticky thread about the Nvidia chip issue. Your graphics chip has failed, but Sony extended the warranty on this issue.

    this computer is almost 3 year old
    had a replacement on the motherboard the first year i had it
    due to overheating
    wheres that sticky thread ur mentioning about?
