i currently have Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X3100
but i want to upgrade it to something better...
Do you think it will be possible for me to upgrade it to something on the line of NVIDIA geforce 8600M GT??

no there always integrated graphics card but there is an external solution to it (i think)

You cannot upgrade the graphics card inside of the laptop, and quite frankly no external solutions actually work.

It's been a while since you posted, but heres 2 cents in case you come back.
the above are correct, but you can get a modest updgrade in your x3100 integrated graphics via a driver update.
I have a VGN-NR160E, similar to yours & raised my Experince score from 3.4 to 3.5 using the update.
Very modest but it does support some technical mumbo jumbo that allows it to play games it couldn't play before (not at max though), such as Oblivion & so forth.
Do a search for updated gma x3100 graphics driver, & try using raise score or oblivion as key words. I did this to play FFXI on my lappy.
Or PM me if still interested & i will email the driver plus instructions.
a manual install required due to Sony not officially releasing this driver. Driver is from intel though.
