This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved.     Sony VGN NR498D and Sony Software

    Hi,

    I purchased the Sony VGN NR498D. First thing I did was to get rid of the installed OS and the hidden partition. I have a Vista 64 bit Business license so I installed that.

    Problem is getting the funcation keys to work. I've downloaded several files off here: http://esupport.sony.com/CA/perl/swu-list.pl?mdl=VGNNR498D&LOC=3 but to no avail. Function keys just won't work.

    When I install Notebook Control and Utilities I get the error message that is attached.

    Anyone else have similar issues?
