Hi, I have a friend with a VGN-A 115Z. Now a few years old, still running XP. A while back I fitted an extra 1GB RAM (giving 1.25GB total). That was a big improvement, but it still grinds from time to time and is slow to start.

I was wondering whether - now 60GB SSD's can be had for around £120 - whether it's worth replacing the hard drive, and if so -

    a) Is it a standard 2.5" drive, and will an SSD fit?
    b) Anyone done this before?
    c) Any particular SSD makes you have tried in Sony machines?

I have a couple of Crucial M225's in desktop machines and they have been perfect for around a year now, but I guess the Sony might be fussy on hardware compatibility?
