Hi guys,
I am just planning to buy the Sony Blu-Ray Notebook from the AR series.
Here in Germany it's called AR11S and it got several bad reviews.
Most of these reviews stated that the screen would be too dark and not homogenously illuminated.
Do you have similiar experiences?
Furthermore they wrote that the high screen resolution would result in too small font types and therefore it would hurt and damage eyes.
What do you think about?

Being an AR11S owner i think the screen is the best i have laid eyes on!!, and dont worry about the screen resolution the fonts are just fine/easy to read. Do take note however that Sony have just announced/released the ar11s Refresh with a core 2 duo processor (AR290G) which supports 64bit extensions in vista and has 4 meg cache!! Basically for screen fonts no one complains about 23" Apple displays with the same res and your sat further away from those than you would be with a laptop if you know what i mean! i went from a 23" desktop to the ar11s and it seems exactly the same fontwise!

Hi,
thanks so much for you post.
Right at the moment I own the very stylish Sony PCV-V1/D, a great computer but since I bought a HDV Handycam I do need the extra power.
Well, nice to hear your experiences!
As I can see you have also purchased the Vaio Bluetooth Mouse?
So you don't need to install any special drivers for this mouse? HID-Profile?
Where can I find Sony's Annoucement? Could you please publish the URL?
Thanks and cheers here from good-old-Germany! -
You just need to pair the mouse and it works!! But i would reccomend if you get one to buy a rechargeable battery set, here in the UK i got the energizer pack (charger and 4 batteries) from Tesco for about £10, these last ages.
