Hello all.. I did a search and also manually went through the threads here & could not find any info on this but....

I have a VAIO AR320E and my laptop is set to go into sleep mode whenever I hit the power button. The setting is still set to that in the power management, but ever since a couple weeks ago whenever I hit the power button to sleep, the mute button comes on and the screen shuts off, but the laptop's lights (HD, power) remain on (when they should blink an orange colored light). Occasionally the screen will come back on by itself and will eventually turn off again (because of the power management settings).

My laptop used to go into sleep mode, no problem, when I hit the power button & now its giving me fits. The only thing I have changed with the laptop since this has been happening has been setting up shared folders in Windows Media Player to share music folders w/ my XBox 360 remotely. But this shouldnt have any effect on the way my cpu sleeps though will it?

Can someone please help me out or maybe lead me in the right direction? I consider myself somewhat proficient w/ PCs but this has got me stumped. Thanks
