    Hi,
I own a sony vgn fz190 laptop and when I run speedfan, the temperature never drops below about 90 degrees F, even when there is virtually no strain on the computer. When there is a lot of stress, speedfan shows a reading of around 150-160 degress F. I dont know if these are accurate readings or false. The laptop is fairly hot to touch, however it doesnt ever shut down which surprises me. Does anyone else have similar readings?

Secondly, where i live i get a lot of dust through the vents and i know that even though the laptop is fairly new, there is some dust building up inside. Therefore, I wanted to open the laptop and clean it. I was wondering if there is some kind of special method to opening the computer. I have tried and failed at opening it and was wondering if anyone may have the service manual. I dont want to start ripping the laptop apart to get in and find out that i ended up breaking something lol.

Thanks for your help in advance, :)
    Kathan

90F is 32C...which is actually low for a CPU :) 150F is 65 C which is also normal under load :) You are safe. Check out the cooling guide. Also yes you should clean out the dust :)

    Johnny,
Thank you very much for the information. I am glad its not overheating like I thought it was haha. Yeah i tried opening the laptop, but there must be something special on this laptop. I have opened up other laptops and all you had to do was unscrew all the screws and the bottom just snaps off, but i tried that with this and it didnt seem to work. Thats why i was wondering if someone had a service manual. But oh well, I guess i will try to get out as much dust as I can with the laptop closed haha.
    Thanks,
    Kathan
