    Hello,

Since 2 days I am an owner of the Sony Vaio VGN-FZ 38.
But I have to say that I am not fully satisfied with the noise that it makes.

If surf the web or just do nothing I can hear some little noise at the right side.
Actually it is not CPU fan. This fan is on the left side.

Is there a fan on the Geforce 8400M GT ? Or what else can it be. I compared the noise level with a Dell Vostro 1700 and the Satellite Pro 300.

The Dell is really really silent. Well it’s very big too.
If the Cpu Fan is not working. The Toshiba is also more silent then my Vaio.

I am a little bit despaired. The Vaio is really the best notebook for me.
    Good Performance and Great Design.
But I don’t think that i will be glad with the noise level.

Do you have a good advice for another notebook?
    Should have 15,4 “
    Approx. 2 Ghz
    2 – 4 Gb ram

And the most important: flat design and very silent

    Thanks for help
