So random, for a while it keeps cutting out and i'm able to turn it back on. like the power completely goes, without warning or anything.

I also noticed that the fan can get really hot, like burns my legs if it's on my lap.

I thought maybe it was dirty so used some of that air can stuff to try and blwo the fan a little.

And then today, when I was using it, it just cut out completely. Won't turn on. No lights, no sound, nada. The green light on the adapter is turning on. I've tried using the battery, but it's dead :(

Any ideas? It's ~2 years old.

    Sounds like it's broken.

Seriously, sounds like a thermal issue and by repeatedly using it you could've cooked the board/cpu. Remove all power (battery, ac)...wait a few minutes. Plug AC in. If still nothing, needs to go in for service.

No but if it's truly the board, unless you can find something on ebay you are looking at a "time to replace the computer" price.

The power charger could have failed, too. Just because the green light is on doesn't mean it's working.
