I installed Windows 7 on my old SZ and it works great. Except it just occurred to me that my very hot PC is probably because the fan is not working. I cannot hear any fan noise any more. Any thoughts on how to get the thing turning again?

if you have windows 7 installed along with your sony drivers, check in the control panel for the vaio control center. there is an option for turning the fan up for more heat dissipation or quiet operation. either that or go into your power settings then advanced plan settings and make sure it's not set on "passive cooling".
