Well, I bought this mouse as part of the Z accessory under that $300 off deal. $40 mouse, and now it has stopped working all of a sudden. I don't know if its a USB driver issue with this particular mouse (my other two mice work fine on this laptop) or the hardware of the mouse itself. But sometimes, the light goes out and won't respond, and something even with the light on, there is no response.

I called SonyStyle store where I bought it from, and since it is outside of 14 days, they won't replace it (bought it about a month ago). So, now first I have to take it to their technician to see if its really broken. Then when they confirm, I have to send it out to the Service Center (which I just called and they said they only deal with computers, not accessories).

Never heard of a mouse failing all of a sudden for no reason.

I've had/have the exact same problem on a Genius mouse on my old Medion laptop...
Then I installed Linux on a partition (keeping XP) the mouse worked for some time (on 1 day) then died on it too....

Plug it into any other computer it'll work... (at least at first)

No idea what it is. But it seems hardware related.
