Hi all,
My father purchased in Greece a Sony Vaio UX1XN, but the OS (Vista Business) is in english and he needs the greek one.
How can he do it? Sony support said that he must send it to London or Bruxelles to install the operating system in another language. Is there any other solution guys?
How can I install a different OS in the UX that it doesn't have the optical drive?
Thanks in advance.

If you have a large enough (about 1GB flash drive) and a PC that does have an optical drive, along with your German OS then you can install it via USB. Google how to install OS via USB drive and it is not very difficult. I have done it myself on multiple UX as well as desktop computers because it is faster than via DVD. Let me know if I can help. Check the threads at www.micropctalk.com about this. http://www.micropctalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=4783 great site for UXs. Good luck.

Thanks bejand for your answer, but I am not such an expert. Btw, is a Greek OS.
Seems a little complicated...I don't have a Vista or XP DVD or CD. I suppose is necessary a Vista DVD right?
I have a 2GB USB drive though. Could you link an exact thread for this or guide me a step by step guide?
Appreciate it.
Searching in google I saw this:
""Έχω vista home premium 32bit (en) και κατέβασα από : http://www.froggie.sk/download.html το προγραματακι Vistalizator_1.40 που χρειαζετε για την εγκατασταση
Και το language pack Greek απο: http://www.download.windowsupdate.co...940e031dae.exe""
Meaning that he downloaded the software Vistalizator and after the language Greek pack and that's it! MUI even if it wasnt't Vista Ultimate -
Have a look at the thread that I posted above. In that thread there is a link to a step by step guide that will tell you all the exact steps. Another thing you could do is google "install vista from USB" and you will find many many guides. You dont necessarily need the DVD, just the file (say off the internet?) for the OS. The OS file will most likely be an .ISO and if you get a virtual DVD drive like Daemon tools then you can extract any of the files on the virtual DVD. These are preliminary steps to getting the files needed to do the install. Do a bit of research on google and I think you can do it. Good luck.
