I have a Sony VIAO VGN-TX2HP with a MAT****A UJ-832D CD/DVD ROM, it reads all CD/DVDs no problem but I cant burn any discs, it says cant write to disc, this problem only started after i completed a factory reset. I have been told it is the driver, I have uninstall and reinstalled it. There is upgrade firmware for the MAT****A UJ-832D but I cant find any for the VGN-TX2HP, do you have any suggestions please:?????????????

Unfortunately, the best suggestion is to redouble your efforts to find the firmware update, which may require extensive googling. Also, you might google around for an optical drive diagnostic utility to see if there are any problems with the drive itself. A quick google found Nero CD Speed, which from the brief description I read is a benchmarking utility that could also function as a diagnostic tool.

Firmware V1.61 for the UJ-832D is here. However, that may be the version you have already got. (You can find out your version by looking at the optical drive properties in Device Manager. It's part of the string with the ODD model on the Details tab.
