    I have a Sony VPC-yb13KX - AMD version.

Problems with the battery, the battery is showing 83% charged, however it is neither charging nor discharging.

When I unplug the power cord the netbook dies.

I assumed that it was a battery problem so I bought a replacement from USBphone, but that battery is not recognized.

I had contacted Sony for a replacement all they had was an "extra" storage version at $279, but as I had only paid $399 for the pc 18months ago, the oem version seemed a better deal at $59
I'd be better buying a new laptop/netbook as a spare than paying SONY's battery price

I have it running Win 7 64 bit instead of the 32 bit supplied with it and it's been working fine.

So any thoughts as to the battery issue ? Would it be Software or hardware related.

    Any help would be appreciated

    Thanks
