    Hi.

I have a VPCEC2M1E which is currently having some graphics issues.

    Here's what I know:

1 - With original LED screen, image shows OK but no light (I even did the thingy to the fuse but to no avail).
2 - With a smaller LED image has light but it's looks like a 4-camera CCTV Display (4 screens showing the same or the screen is divided into 4)
3 - On an external screen, everything shows up preety nicely.

    Help?

Check the fuse on the back of the LCD panel to see if it is blown (not the one on the motherboard, which you apparently bridged) and see if there is a blown fuse on PCB on the back of the screen. Yes, use a voltmeter to check. How did this come about?

Always remove the battery, ac adapter from laptop and hold down power button for 5 seconds to discharge any remaining voltage before taking apart or attempting repairs on your pc!!!!!

    Thanks next4nextel.

Yes, I bridged the one on the motherboard. I managed to find it due to the other thread where someone points people where it's located. While my mainboard isn't listed there, the similarities were sufficient to make me find it.

But, I have no idea on where to check for it in the LED screen itself. I'm going to try and find some pics and i'll report back.

No luck finding those pics. Or maybe it's my keywords that aren't as good, me not being a native english speaker.

The fuses you need to check are the ones on the back of the LED panel (either on the top or bottom), there should be a small printed circuit board where the LVDS or video cable connects to it. There should be a couple of fuses similar to the one you bridged on the mother board, I believe one of them might be a dud, you need to check with a voltmeter if any of those fuses have gone bad.

So I thought. After looking at it, all I see are resistors and capacitors (they're labled Rxyz and Cxyz). Would a few pictures of the PCB on the screen help you find them? I have no problem checking them, I just dunno where they are.

Again, many thanks for your help. It's much appreciated.
