My laptop is turning on but I can't see any thing on display. I could hear windows sound and everything and led backlight is also on but no graphics. What can I do this computer is 1 year old. Sony has already fixed my graphics card once but I think they did a terrible job.

What did you do to it? You aren't telling us the whole story, You say this happened before, what did Sony replace or do to it before? I've got a lot of questions for you.

How did this happen, did you replace or remove the LCD or LED screen at any point recently. Were you working inside it? It's possible that your LED backlight fuse is blown. At night or in a dark room turn the lights off and turn pc on and flash a flash light on the screen, if you can make out the faint windows background then your fuse is blown.

Also it could be a problem with your video card, find an external monitor and plug it into your VGA port on your laptop, if the external monitor works then it will tell us that your graphics card is at least functioning.

I think the problem is the graphics card since I connected it to a VGA monitor can't see anything. The graphics card has been replaced before by sony for some other problem so they probably did a lousy job. What are the chances they will fix it again?

Hmm, the graphics card is integrated into or part of the motherboard, so chances are you'll need a new motherboard. If your graphics is damaged not much you can do to repair.

You can find a new mobo for under $200 if you look hard. Also your standard vaio warranty is up as it has been more than a year since purchase so unless they gave you extended warrany on the previous repair you're stuck. But I'd call and try to get them to do something.

Sony and many other laptops have graphics issue especially with nvidia chipset. Reflow the chip would bring it back to life. If you can find any shop or anyone who fix Xbox or ps3, they can help you.

^^^ Reflow does that involve removing and resoldering the chip? I thought about replacing the graphics chip with a new one but you'd have to do it with a machine and I don't know anyone that skilled to solder those bad boys by hand.

In reflow process, you only apply flux and bake the board to melt lead balls to make all joints work again. Remove, reball and replace the chip are in rework process.
I have been doing this for over 5 years. I have all equipment for the job.
