I just bought this laptop last week (fw490 JFT):

    http://www.sonystyle.com/webapp/wcs...10151&langId=-1&productId=8198552921665893596

This was not a CTO, but this configuration.

    • 6MB RAM
    • T9600
    • 500 GB hard drive
    • Blu Ray read and write, etc.

My question is does anyone else have this model and have you noticed when burning just a normal audio CD (using itunes 8 or WMP 11) that it takes 30 minutes to burn a 80 min CD. On my other previous laptops this would only take maybe 10 mins?

This machine should fly but is the PIONEER BD-RW BDR-TD01 blu ray drive they put in this machine super slow?

Seems like the max it can burn a CD is 4x?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I've got about a week to return this and if so, I'll probably get a Macbook Pro or the same VAIO but without the BluRay reader if that is quicker, etc.

    Thanks.
