Friend has a Sony Vaio, which for no reason, shut down, and when rebooting, displayed a "invalid system date" error. If he boots normally, it only runs for a few minutes, then shuts down, but he is able to get it to run stable in safe network mode. When he initially got back into windows, the date was 1987, and he set the proper time in windows. Any idea why this would be occuring? I was thinking the CMOS battery might be going bad, and I advised him to get into setup when the laptop boots, and make sure the system date/time is set correctly.Any other suggestions?
