    Hey guys,

    I was wondering whether the 512MB 8600M GT graphics card on the Sony Vaio AR790U(USA) and the AR61ZU(European) is a DDR2 or a GDDR3 version. Hopefully someone can shed light on this. Cheers.

    its GDDR2, last time i asked the guy in the shop they said that its GDDR2

    Hmm I thought so,thanks boko. The thing is when I called up sony style uk, they said it is a GDDR3 version(probably for selling it).I am kinda confused now,does anybody else have any opinions?

    AFIAK, its GDDR3 (at least, all reports I heard suggest that). :)

    i thought a 8600M GT with 512mb is GDDR2 only? there is no 512MB GDDR3 in the 8600M GT :D
