Is it true the Blu-ray burner that comes with the Z cannot burn dual layered DVDs?

    Thanks!

The last generation Z has a UJ-232A Blu ray burner and it did not support DVD DL burning capabilities. The current generation Z's have a UJ-242A Blu ray burner that does support DVD DL burning capabilities. The optical drives of each are the same size ( 9.5mm ) with a slightly different design hardware wise and of couse with the latter having DVD DL burning support.

Could you get the blu burner later on and add it on without voiding the warranty?

I have not had any warranty claims to make yet so I'm not sure. I did have my Blu ray drive installed after I purchased the Z so if and when......we'll see.
