I have a Sony Vaio VGN-NR498D. I checked my e-mail and shut down my computer but when I turned on my computer, Windows Boot Manager popped up stating Windows failed to start.

When turning on the computer, the sony vaio screen appears, but cannot boot into windows. The Windows Boot Manager says:

    1. Insert your windows installation disc and restart your computer
    2. choose your language settings, and then click next.
    3. click repair your computer.

The problem is, my laptop did not come with a windows installation disk to even begin this process. I`ve tried F10, which takes me to the system recovery center, but I don`t want to format my computer.

At the windows boot manager, it also says:

File: /Boot/BCD (the slashes should be facing the other way, but my keyboard is being weird)

    Status: 0xc000000f

Info: An error occurred while attempting to read the boot configuration data.

if anyone knows a solution without formatting, it would be greatly appreciated! Many thanks!
